Haven House Children's Hospice raises a staggering £12,000 with the help of Gala Tent!
Local charity, Haven House Children's Hospice, organised a successful event which enabled them to raise an astonishing £12,000.
The Summer Fayre, organised by Haven House Children's Hospice, was held on the 5th of July 2015 in order to raise funds to help children and young people. The Summer Fayre meant that children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions can be supported and cared for in the best possible way.
Haven House opened its doors in 2003 and has helped and supported over 600 families across North and East London, West Essex and East Hertfordshire. The support involves clinical and non-clinical services dependent on the needs including day care, end of life care and emotional and practical help for all families. Haven House came about as the founder recognised that there was little support for families who faced huge emotional and physical demands.
Gala Tent recognises the importance of helping local charities when it comes to fundraising events and the Haven House was no exception. The outdoor shelter which Gala Tent provided meant that the Summer Fayre could include outdoor activities such as pantomimes and concerts using their semi-permanent stage.
Numerous fundraising events are held by volunteers and sponsors throughout the year in order to gain as many donations as possible so that Haven House can continue to fund the services. The Summer Fayre is extremely important to Haven House as the fundraising events mean that the Summer Fayre and other fundraising events can continue in the future years as well as making sure that all the children in the Hospice have the best quality of life they can.
The hospice had a very successful day at this years Summer Fayre with over 1,000 members of the local community attending to support this event. The local community and supporters helped to raise a whopping £12,000! There were stalls selling clothing, toys and goods from charity shops as well as a barbecue for the supporters. There were children's activities such as trampolines, swing boats, a penalty shoot-out and a rodeo bull. Haven House also organised for a Blues Brothers tribute band and the Epping Forest Pipe band to entertain the supporters.
Haven House were able to offer shelter and a stage at the event to ensure that everyone had an amazing time thanks to Gala Tent offering a massively discounted structure.
