Gala Tent helps save the day at Brinsworth Charity Fundraiser

A charity fun day in Brinsworth, Rotherham, was able to go ahead despite warnings of bad weather, after Dearne Valley based Gala Tent loaned the organisers two Gala Shade gazebos.

Harvey’s Charity Fun Day, which is an annual event, held in aid of the Alzheimer's Society, the Dementia Action Alliance and Crossroads Care Trust, risked being cancelled if it didn't have any shelter.

The two 6m x 3m gazebos were used to keep volunteers dry throughout the day, as well as housing a variety of fundraising activities, including face painting, cake stalls and live music.

Dave Lawrence, one of the organisers of Harvey’s Charity Fun Day, said: “We are extremely grateful to Gala Tent for loaning us two of their gazebos. It gave us the confidence to go ahead with our plans for the event despite the poor weather forecast.”

Harvey’s Charity Fun Day was organised by Maria Lowe, Helen Bolton and Dave Lawrence who were inspired to raise money after a loved one was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. The event is close to reaching its target of raising £1,000 for its chosen charities, and is looking to plan more fundraisers in the near future.
