Gala Tent loans to fundraiser
South Yorkshire based Gala Tent was pleased to be able to support a race night in memory of Sheffield school girl Jasmyn Chan, who lost her life after being tragically killed by a hit and run driver, recently.
Gala Tent loaned three event-size gazebos for the fundraiser, held at Hollin Bush Pub, Hollinsend Road, Intake, which attracted hundreds of people and has so far raised over £5,300 towards 14 year old Jasmyn’s funeral costs.
The two 6m x 6m and one 3m x 6m gazebos were used as a means of shelter for visitors, and also to house a variety of fundraising events including an auction and a raffle.
Kristie Rippon, Landlady at the Hollin Bush Pub, said: “We were extremely grateful to Gala Tent for loaning us three of their gazebos. The event was attended by hundreds of people and it was great to be able to have some shade for the activities on such a sunny weekend. We were overwhelmed with the amount of money raised for Jasmyn’s family, and we would like to thank everyone who supported the event.”
Jason Mace, Managing Director of Gala Tent, said: “When we heard about the Hollin Bush pub’s need for some gazebos in which to host their event, we were only too happy to help. It is fantastic that so many people got involved in helping to raise money in these tragic circumstances.”
A petition was signed by over 3,000 at the event, urging the council to improve road safety in the area surrounding Jasmyn’s accident. Campaigners want to see a controlled crossing installed on the road.
