Gala Tent Help Fusion Group to Raise £63,000 for Charity
Fusion Group based in Chesterfield is a £100m turnover multinational supporting gas, water and electricity infrastructure markets worldwide.
In 2011 the Group aimed to raise £40k for charity to commemorate their 40th anniversary. This was done by creating twenty teams across the group, providing them with £500 each, and asking them to turn this into £2,500.
John Batty, a supplier of marketing services to Gala Tent and passionate member of the Fusion Group approached Gala Tent for the loan of a structure knowing that they often support different fund raising projects by saving them revenue from the cost of hiring. The structured loaned was a Gala Star Shade and was used as part of the UPS (Utility Power Systems, a Fusion Group company) Family Festival of Fun event held at Birchall Golf Club in order to provide shelter for the games.
The event was predominantly outdoors: mountain biking, Frisbee, Boules and golf which greatly affected attendance due to the dreadful weather. The Gala Star Shade ensured that some of the events still went ahead in relative providing well needed shelter from the elements.
When asked if he would recommend Gala Tent for their quality products and exceptional service John replied,
“Gala Tent produces good products. I wouldn’t recommend the Gala Star Shade. The actual covered area is relatively small compared to its footprint. The website is packed full of information but it is not easy to follow (i.e. it would benefit from being better organised/structured); purchasing online is hampered by ‘out of stock’ messages with no option to place an order for delivery at a later date. I appreciate that the Jubilee, Olympics and Football have created ideal market conditions for Gala Tent, but the delay in answering the phone is incredibly frustrating and could lead to buyers looking elsewhere.”
Despite the horrific weather in some areas of the country across the 20 separate fund raising events the final amount raised for charity was £63,000.
