So, with this objective in mind, Gala Tent has added a fantastic new method of making payments for your purchases, which is a very new process that you may not necessarily have heard of yet, and it goes by the name of Open Banking.

WHAT IS OPEN BANKING?

To you, the customer, Open Banking is an innovative new variation of the traditional Bank Transfer (Also known as BACS) process. In the simplest terms possible, with very few personal details required, the retailer (ie. Gala Tent) can make a request directly to you, the buyer, and your bank for an exact-figure one-off payment. You would then enter your Banking App on your Smartphone, and approve the immediate payment.

WHY IS OPEN BANKING BETTER THAN TRADITIONAL BACS?

Where Traditional BACS payments require you to take the payment receiver’s bank details and set up an approved payment either online, in the branch or by telephone. Not necessarily always, but sometimes this can be a painful process, especially with first-time payments, when your bank will require multiple authorisation codes be sent to you to confirm that you’re happy with the transaction. When all you want to do is make a direct payment as painlessly as possible, sometimes it’s easier to just not make the purchase at all, so you’re left frustrated at the experience, and without the product or service you wanted.
