Meet Kevin Nicks - Creator of the World's Fastest Shed

Kevin smashed the landspeed record for a motorised garden shed at Elvington Airfield in September 2020, clocking a top speed of 106.12mph. His achievement launched him to notoriety, and videos of his shed have been viewed millions of times.

He and his wonderfully eccentric vehicle have since featured on TV several times, including on David Jason and Jay Blades' daytime show David & Jay's Touring Toolshed, and the shed was also central to the official music video of the popular LadBaby charity single, Don't Stop Me Eatin' in which the influencers are seen driving around London in the festively decorated garden building on wheels.

Ever the creative tinkerer, Kevin has also created several other vehicles that have gone on to break landspeed records, including a motorised BMX and Wheelbarrow, and a very long mobility scooter!

We had the privilege of welcoming Kevin and some of his wonderful inventions to our HQ in Rotherham, where he delighted staff with demonstrations of his remarkable speed, and he also joined forces with us for a great skit in which he stands in for our warehouse team to speed up the picking process, which you can see below.

Kevin will carry the Gala Tent name on his shed, which will be showcased to millions of people up and down the country as he travels to various events. When he is at these events, he will set up a Gala Shade Pro 50 gazebo with dye-sublimation printed covers, plus promotional teardrop flags, which Kevin says will elevate his brand and help him to present what he does in a more professional way.

Not only will the gazebo be on show at these events, but Kevin also has plans on adding a motor to it! However fast he can make it, it will surely be the world's fastest pop-up gazebo - we will share more on this as it develops.
